Horses experience lots of changes as they age - changes in their metabolisms, reduced ability to recover quickly, abrasion or loss of teeth. These are all signs of advanced age in horses. Since older horses have more trouble chewing, their feed needs to be adjusted accordingly.

One major problem is that wear to their teeth makes it harder to chew basic feed. This can lead to insufficient raw fibre intake, weight loss and disturbed intestinal flora.

The Pre Alpin Senior dry green fibres are ideal for older horses or horses that cannot chew well. The 3-20 mm long fibres are cut small enough that they are similar to the size they would be if your horse could chew them. Thanks to the cold-pressed linseed oil added to the recipe, your the horse is also supplied with essential fatty acids.

Feeding recommendation:

• As a basic feed substitute: 1.2 to 1.5 kg per 100 kg body weight daily
• To upgrade your basic feed, or to adjust the amount of basic feed available - 1 kg Pre Alpin Senior replaces 1 kg hay, if necessary moisten with water
• As a concentrate substitute: 1.2 kg PRE ALPIN SENIOR replaces approx. 1 kg grain
